In order for JICS users to access certain pages, the role to which they are assigned must be granted access using the Access page.
User role access to pages and global operations within pages can be added or removed.
Add User Role Access to a Page
1. Log in as the JICS administrator.
2. From the page to which you want to add access, click Access.
The Access page appears.
3. Click on the JICS user role that is to have access to the page, and on the pop-up window click Show this page to (your selected user role).
Your change is saved. All users assigned to the selected JICS user role will be able to access the page.
If applicable, the global operations that apply to this page appear in the pop-up window. The No Access icon appears next to the global operation link, indicating the user role does not have access to these operations within the page.
4. To give this user role access to one or more global operations on the page,
a. Click on the global operation link next to the No Access icon.
The pop-up window updates, and the No Access icon is replaced with the Access Granted
icon. The user role now has access to that global operation on this page.
b. Repeat this step for each global operation the user role needs to perform.
5. Repeat this task for each JICS user role that should have access to the page.
Remove User Role Access to a Page
1. Log in as the JICS administrator.
2. From the page to which you want to remove access, click Access.
The Access page appears.
3. Click on the JICS user role that is to no longer have access.
A pop-up window appears listing any global operations that apply to this page and whether the user role has access () or not (
)
4. Click Hide this page from them.
Your change is saved. The page will be hidden from all users assigned to the selected JICS user role.
5. Repeat this task for each JICS user role that should no longer have access to the page.
Add or Remove User Role Access to a Global Operation on a Page
1. Log in as the JICS administrator.
2. From the page to which you want to add or remove access, click Access.
The Access page appears.
3. Click on the JICS user role you want to update.
The global operations that apply to this page appear in the pop-up window. The No Access icon and the Access Granted
icon indicate which global operations the user role can perform.
4. To give this user role access to a global operation on the page,
a. Click on the global operation link next to the No Access icon.
The pop-up window updates, and the No Access icon is replaced with the Access Granted
icon. The user role now has access to that global operation on this page.
b. Repeat this step for each global operation the user role needs to perform.
5. To remove this user role's access to a global operation on the page,
a. Click on the global operation link next to the Access Granted icon.
The pop-up window updates, and the Access Granted icon is replaced with the No Access
icon. The user role no longer has access to that global operation on this page.
b. Repeat this step for each global operation the user role no longer needs to perform.
6. Repeat this task for other user roles as applicable.
